Luminous 2013

In 2013, Kenji was invited to participate in the Redcliffe City Gallery’s 15 Artists exhibition. He produced this four-piece installation entitled Luminous.

“The built, natural and social environments are a constant source of inspiration. Simple insights and observations in everyday life often find their way into my work, manifesting in form and pattern. I was born in Nara, Japan, a landlocked prefecture where there is no shortage of mountains. But now I call Brisbane home, and Moreton Bay is literally on my doorstep. I find the interplay between, and the patterns created when sunshine hits this great expanse of water captivating, and it’s the inspiration for this body of work.” — Kenji
